Welcome to the Carter Lake Police Department

 

Carter Lake, Iowa is uniquely located on the West side of the Missouri River immediately north of downtown Omaha, Nebraska. It is a city surrounded on three sides by Omaha and its fourth boundary is the Missouri River. Our lake is approximately 323 acres with the city being approxmiately 2.0 square miles. Carter lake was separated from Iowa by a series of river changes after the city was first settled.

 

We hope you will find our website useful and informative. We have built the website so that you can get to know us and the services we offer. You may find the Quality of Life link most useful if you have a problem in your neighborhood. Each neighborhood is assigned an officer that will assist residents with problems that affect their quality of life. These problems may be nuisance such as junk cars, disorderly houses, barking or loose dogs and so on.

February 08

Monday

Demetrion Washington who resides at 909 N. 48th Avenue was cited and released for not having a valid driver’s license or insurance.  Vehicle was impounded.

 

Officer cited and released David Cumberledge who resides at 5816 N. 104th Street in Omaha for possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Jacalyn Triplett who resides at 1524 Willow Drive was cited and released for driving while suspended, unable to provide proof of insurance and improper use of registration.  Vehicle was impounded.

 

Jake Cudd who resides at 816 Wood Avenue was arrested for driving while suspended.

Friday

Officers conducted a Search Warrant on Susan Gallentine who resides at 3510 N. 9th St. Lot 157.  Omaha Police stated a drug investigation had given them reason to believe that the resident was involved in illegal drug activity.  Officers found a silver container with drug paraphernalia items.  Ms. Gallentine was issued a citation and released.

Jose Ledezma who resides at 518 Woolworth in Omaha reported while at the mobile home park Lot 205 someone hit his vehicle on the passenger’s side near the front of the vehicle.  There was no paint transfer on the vehicle and no witnesses to the accident.  Report was taken.

 

Officers were contacted by the Omaha Police regarding a robbery that involved a gun and wanted to know if we could go to 910 Redick to search the house.  Omaha Police were looking for ammunition and firearms.  Permission was given by Ashley Hansen.  Nothing was found.

Ashlie Schatzle who resides at 2624 3rd Avenue reported while at a friend’s house located at 1405 Holiday someone broke her back window of her vehicle.  No suspects at this time.

Officer arrested Paul Kinyanjui who resides at 2828 S. 146th Street in Omaha for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and having an open container.  Vehicle was impounded.

Officer cited and released David Stastny who resides at 11910 Farnam Street in Omaha for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officer cited Kimberly White who was working at Jump Start located at 109 Locust Street for selling alcohol to a minor.

Friday

Kathleen Wingstad who resides at 3510 N. 9th St. Lot 224 reported someone broke into her unit at Strong Box and took over $500 in property.

 

Bluffs Taxi and Courier located at 812 9th Avenue in Council Bluffs reported 2 juveniles took off without paying for their cab fare.  Officer was able to get information on the suspects and advised them to pay the fare or a warrant would be issued.  Officer spoke with the manager at Bluffs Taxi to verify that restitution was received and that no charges would be filed.

 

Officer arrested Michael Keller who resides at 1102 Lindwood Drive for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no insurance.  Vehicle was impounded.
